Doesn’t have to be update and shutdown, I will click shutdown and it just reboots. Even disabled fast startup, so it’s not getting a wake event just as it’s hibernating.

Eff has a better list imo. Diceware has a tonne of short abbreviations like “1st”. Eff is words that are mostly 5 to 8 characters long. Much more xkcd like and easier to make a mnemonic out of.
it limits the Windows updates you’ll receive.
I don’t think it does now does it? For the longest time ms wants to make sure all machines are up to date to try and keep, “always getting viruses” moniker away. I think maybe xp did that?
So no change whatsoever then? Ever since it released windows 10 patch testing has been “release to end user and see what the complaints are.”
Shift F10 just opens the command prompt. After that it’s the name of a batch file in the oobe folder. (Out of box experience.) You can tab complete the name so you just have to remember the oobe part. The biggest annoyance is if you buy a laptop that is in S mode, you can’t start command prompt to do this.
All it does is add a registry key, and reboot, but you would have to know how to do custom windows deployments to to create an image to skip it always.
Yea, this is not cheap companies doing cheap things. This is companies getting annoyed by stupid licencing and restrictions, getting around the problem.
Everyone saying PSU, but I also had a similar issue and it turned out to be my GPU overheating (driver did an emergency shutdown of windows.) It was a fair few years old, but after a re-paste of the GPU thermal compound the issue went away. The reason I say is it’s probably cheaper than a new PSU, so I would do it first.
Well it may or may not be wrong. One of the measures would be, can Reddit afford the price if it also had pay for the same access? If the answer is no, then it might be considered preferential treatment to their own app. However ianal so there could be a carve out for that.
Maybe it was just me but I never had issues with the u shaped dryers. Although I normally put my hands in by the side, wrists above, kept them flat, and drew out slowly. Dry hands every time.
Other dryers just end up pushing water to the dry side of your hand.
Did they think about how far I would have to move my hand to type it? Sudo is only in two easy to reach places on the keyboard, run0 is 4 separate areas of the keyboard, one two rows from home and none on the home row.
I’m only partially joking.
It depends where you want the complexity.
Since ssh is a layer4 tunnel if you don’t run a proxy on your home box, you’ll need a new network connection for each service, if you are fine with that, I would set it up only on the VPS. This means if the tunnel goes down, you should at least get 502 error rather than a timeout or connection refused.
Alternatively you could forward 80, 443 to a proxy service on the home server. That would require two ports for the ssh.
You can drop it to a single ssh connection by having a proxy on both and just have the VPS proxy Http and https to the same port on the home server.
In the how this works section they detail that it comes from MDM solutions. In English this is a feature for it admins of companies who use the intune management software from Microsoft. You probably need pro or better to even use the feature.
At a quick glance, it looks to be a way of whitelisting domains at a DNS level, but with the added feature of having allowed DNS servers.
Look me a moment to realise it’s not an actual farscape picture.
One issue is that some people are still on windows 7 installs that were upgraded. Windows 7 had a large enough partition for then, but the upgrade now needs more. Unfortunately 2009 Microsoft didn’t anticipate that this should be bigger for 2023 installs. Making it larger is a hassle I wouldn’t want to code either.
This must have been xp or earlier. Since vista there was a shared key and certificate for each OEM that paired with a code on the motherboard. And since 8 or 10 there is now a key in the motherboard that has been pre-registered with the activation servers. Now when you activate a retail key, it registers the motherboard not the install, so a reinstall gets activated automatically.
Energy don’t have weight but, it does have an effect on the curvature of space the same way matter does. In fact one of the proposed methods to create artificial blackholes is to put enough photons into the same place. It’s easier than getting matter together as photons don’t interact with eachother.
However the point is correct that light energy will only impart an insignificant amount to the earth’s pull.
It’s almost like trying to squish different security architectures on top of each other doesn’t work well. It’s a nice idea, but it was either not going to work smoothly or be a big security issue.
turn off the toggle for “Show recommendations for tips, app promotions, and more.”
I turn this off anyway, as in Windows 10 it always kept pushing 3rd party apps. Is this ad any different to the Windows 10 “Suggested App” that was in the start menu for it?
For years people have known it can’t be upgraded. You know that going in.
Not sure that is true, lots of people see the marketing for a MacBook and think that any of them will be enough. Or see the price difference and think they are getting a good deal, or don’t understand why that is. I’ve had to tell people, sorry I know you spent a lot of money on this, but it does not have the storage for what you are wanting to do. Yes, the only way is to buy another one.
Otherwise yea, everyone tries to gaslight customers into thinking they didn’t get ripped off.
S mode does allow you to turn it off, so it’s more like a hobbled version of home.
The computer is as bad as one I saw several years ago with 64g emmc and “Quad core processor.” not a quad core, it was literally the name that showed in system. It did have 4 cores: at 400Mhz, boosting to 1.1Ghz. Buyer changed their mind and we couldn’t give it away.
